ARTIST STATEMENT

My Manic Perception

The spontaneity of my art work roots deeply within my emotional state. I paint these emotions; their stories come to life within my work. My forms come from curiosity and while colors are plucked from distant memories.

I tend to explore paintings with a dormant thought. The inquires into that thought are what carries the work into a story and through its process of development, I am able to see what my mind was letting go of for the rest of me to forget what was once there.

"Bring your eyes close enough to the artwork, so it can converse with your soul"

From a young age, I knew that I wanted a career that would allow me to express my creativity. Working both independently and on commissioned projects, I slowly became aware of my passion for visual storytelling.

I view this passion as a continuous learning experience that expands with every new endeavor I take on. My work is quirky, continuous and unique to the times.

The Grand Gesture Series

This series of paintings was created during the fall of 2022. Using gold leaf for the first time ,I experimented with depth though a mat black background adding whips of gold, silver, yellows and whites. Together, these shapes and forms create a stunning space to let the mind wander.
