2016-2019

waiting in a bathrobes better in a bathroom

After a few years of a beautiful, yet short lived relationships in the town of Brattleboro, I decided to reside with my mom in the town of Windsor, Vermont. The transition was that of necessity; no job, no relationship and no belongings. I had a fresh start in this new town and chose to live a new sober lifestyle. There, I met a senior artist who encouraged me to continue to paint and gifted many canvases's and supplies to further my artwork. I recall having very little paints to work with however found the pantry to provide flavors of inspiration. The first mixed media work I had made was constructed, using a green bar of soap, black Indian ink, and a mixture of turmeric and paprika for color.

Two years had past before finding steady employment in the field of carpentry. During this time I had created one of my largest series of work which consisted of many figurative forms in vibrant colored back drops.  I believe my hardships supplied me with the mindset to create with such intensity.

Shortly after Covid hit the states, I was working long days learning carpentry and construction. My nights were filled with drinking alone and dabbling in fictional portraiture paintings.

Living alone in the small town of Brownsville I slowly but surely began to drift into a strong manic state. Work began to slow and as winter hit in 2019, I spent countless night staying up far too late starting painting after painting.....
